Alexander Youth Network Installation

Project Communicates Agency's Mission

CHARLOTTE, NC - Alexander Youth Network's Campus on Thermal Road (formally Alexander Children's Center) in Charlotte is now home to a large-scale mixed media installation. The artwork, concieved and constructed by David Tisdale, is the first of several facility beautifcation projects planned for the 65 acre campus in 2004.

"We wanted to create something that was more that just decoration" said Tisdale. "The piece represents the components that make up the organization: volunteers, donors, treatment, families, and children. The materials and imagery celebrate Alexander's 115 years of success in treating children."

The 20 foot work of art combines historical photographs, elementary-style paintings and found objects. It was unvieled similtaniously with a 20 frame kids art gallery leading into the room housing the installation.
